Accountants, Social Media & The Job Search

I was intrigued by an article last week called “Accountants don’t do social media – or do they, but they don’t realise they do?” It was written by Elaine Clark, one of the speakers at an event held by the ICAEW. How To Find Language Jobs

If you are multi-lingual and seeking a role where you can use your foreign languages, there are a whole host of positions you could consider. Like with any job search, it is important that you have all the technical skills required for the job as well as being able to speak the language fluently. Whilst this may seem pretty obvious, you would be surprised by the number of people I speak to that just say they can “get by” in Spanish, French, Germany etc, which isn’t sufficient. I believe the litmus test is – if you cannot conduct a face-to-face interview in the language required for the job, then you shouldn’t apply.
