Agency Recruiters Are Not…
Agency recruiters are not:
•Career consultants. Although a good recruiter can certainly give you advice on career paths, opportunities and the market, they are not counsellors or coaches able to help you figure out what you want.
If you don’t know, your confusion becomes theirs, how can they help you when they don’t know what you’re asking for? Alternatively you are opening yourself up for manipulation. If you are not clear on the criteria, you could easily end up doing what they want you to, rather than what you need to do. read more

Unemployed And Too Busy To Interview
In the last fortnight one of our candidates, let’s call her ‘Heather’ was called for interview.
She had been made redundant over three months ago and this was a role she wanted.
The problem was Heather couldn’t make the interview, she was busy.

Little white lies don’t hurt anyone do they? Harmless exaggerations or stories intended just to gloss over right?
“I’m only 29” “Dinner will be ready in 5 minutes” and “No your bum does not look big in that” where’s the problem?
Yet lies can cause irreparable damage and never more so than in the jobsearch.
