How To Find Language Jobs

If you are multi-lingual and seeking a role where you can use your foreign languages, there are a whole host of positions you could consider. Like with any job search, it is important that you have all the technical skills required for the job as well as being able to speak the language fluently. Whilst this may seem pretty obvious, you would be surprised by the number of people I speak to that just say they can “get by” in Spanish, French, Germany etc, which isn’t sufficient. I believe the litmus test is – if you cannot conduct a face-to-face interview in the language required for the job, then you shouldn’t apply.

Most FTSE100 Companies have their own career micro-sites now, and I now have updated the list to 80 of the FTSE100, so this will interest anyone who is keen to work in a UK blue-chip company, the majority of whom have highly recognisable brands. Having looked at all 80 companies, many of them offer you the ability to search roles on their website by specific job category, geographical location and job type. As I have mentioned before, I don’t believe you will get the same responsiveness or service that you would from a good relationship-driven recruitment agency, or as diverse a choice of jobs (you are only looking at one company after all), but you should use these sites as part of an all-round planned job search programme.
